The men don’t fully realise what a wonderful and unique experience they are having compared to the rest of humankind. They just see the baby as an orphan who has to integrate into the society of humans and elephants he will be living with. They are not hurting the baby he is learning while he is with them about what humans expect of him for his own safety and theirs in the future.

It was later poached. When asked why? The poacher's said because we could, isn't that the reason everyone rapes each other? yup, couldn't argue with that. The earth is the perfect example. We take and kill and were happy. Beautiful things like this baby elephant don't survive mankind. We just have to kill it because we can and because that's our nature.
