This full installation of Rome: Total Realism mod 6.0 changes the face of Rome: Total War with new units, factions, music, voices, and much more. The main focus.

After long wait new version of Empire Realism is released. It brings several radical changes to game play, introducing improved realistic battle system for land and naval combat and enhanced versions of ETW main and Road to Independence campaigns.
Major changes:
Fully implemented Experience system previously seen in Napoleon Empire Realism mod. Units now have starting experience based on level of training and status.
Improved Combat system with realistic musketry effect, dangerous but realistic cavalry charges and artillery (with 2 canister rounds available). Improved firing and melee animations and realistic movement speeds for all units.
Complete Unit stats overhaul based on unit effectivity and weapons used, as well as received training. Overhaul works closely with new Experience system.
Improved technology Tree with lots of meaningful technologies which provide important and historically correct bonuses.
New time scale with 3 turns per year for all campaigns, with 2 summer turns and one winter. One turn now represents 4 months.
Improved Campaign AI system based on Darthmod AI (bit thanks goes to Darth for allowing me to implement his excellent work)
Several essential submods incorporated, like TC's replenishment mod, Spanky's proper militia mod,Lordsith's firing animations,Hedge Knight's formation mod,Primergy's large Flags, Battlefield Smoke mod by Mech_Donald etc. (full credits in release thread)

| inoksvere | I'll try this out JaM. I recently started playing E:TW and honestly, though the game is truly fun, I can not stand the battles sometimes. Vanilla cav charges are horrendously weak in my honest opinion. When a cav unit charges the rear of an infantry unit I expect to see more than just 9 casualties. Even if it's a downhill charge, it makes no difference whatsoever. I also noticed that Vanilla artillery is ridiculously weak. From what I experienced during a Great Britain campaign on H/H a cannon would fire, getting a direct hit in the middle of some 100 troops and only about 5 of those men would die. But, after installing ACW (Brothers vs Brothers; the American Civil War mod) they had artillery powerful as it should be, and cav charged were much more realistic - as were infantry engagements. In short, I'm excited to try your Realism mod, good sir, thank you for your work! |

The modifications have made this game addictive and worth playing.
Cons
Its playable and looks historically correct.

I like the feel of realism this game has. The original publishers should hire the REALISM team to write a new, offiicial game.

Pros
Lots of New Units including the persian phalanx, More Realism, Great Music, Campaign map Extended to India with more realistic cities and graphics.
Cons
Patch 1.2 is required. It would have been better to integrate the mod with 1.5 patch or just the old 1.0. Installation process can be improved.
Pros
Historically accurate, new units, factions and a absolutely huge map to play on. It goes from Spain to the border of india.

It has most of the kinks worked out but once in a while it will crash on me but it's a mod what do you expect.

The fact that it puts a whole load of extra content into the game to make it more 'believeable' makes this a great patch for Rome: Total War. And for a history nut like me its even better!
Cons
Its not compatible with the expansion pack, Barbarian Invasion, though in time maybe there will be one for it.

I have the newest version 1.3 and it doesn't work with it.Now the whole game doesn't work even after system restore.Uninstall and reinstall the whole game(if uninstall works).
